JUNIOR, CADET AND YOUTH NORDIC CHAMPIONSHIPS ON ÉPEE 29-30.9.2012 ESPOO, FINLAND and JUNIOR ÉPEE NATIONAL TEAM COMPETITION

Espoo Otahalli Sporthall, Otaranta 6, 02150 Espoo Finland
Espoo Otahalli Sporthall is located 30 kilometers from the Helsinki –Vantaa Airport and 9 kilometers from the Helsinki city center.

Participation
Juniors: Fencers born in 1993 and later.
Cadets: Fencers born in 1996 and later.
Older youth (U15) born in 1998 and later (also boys and girls separate)
Younger youth (U13) born in 2000 and later (also boys and girls separate)

Entry fee
Individual Event: One start 20 EUR / Two starts 30 EUR
Team event: 40 EUR per team.
 
Competition formula
The competition formula of the FIE Junior World Cup will be used, i.e., one round of pools, in which all fencers present take part, and an integral direct elimination for qualified fencers. 
Junior Team Competition
There will be team competition only for the national teams. Each country can participate with only one team in each gender class. The host nation can be represented with two teams in each gender class. System of the team competition will be depended of the number of the teams.

Equipment:
The NFU requires fencing equipment as follows:

Juniors and cadets
FIE-mask 1600N
FIE–jacket and –breeches 800N
FIE-plastron 800N

U15/U13 fencers
mask 350N
jacket 350N and breeches 350N, FIE-plastron 800N or jacket 800N and breeches 350N, plastron 350N

FIE-blade is NOT obligatory. All equipment control will be checked by the referees on the fencing piste.
 
Quota of referees:
According to the NFU rules, participating federations are obliged to provide referees, the number depending on the number of participants from the federation as follows:
1 - 4 participants on one tournament day: 0 referee
5 - 9 participants on one tournament day: 1 referee
10 -15 participants on one tournament day: 2 referees
16 - 20 participants on one tournament day: 3 referees.
21 and more participants on one tournament day: 4 referees

The organizing federation can impose a fine, amounting to Euro 150 per referee not provided or paid for, on a participating federation that does not provide or pay for referees according to the above.

Please send also the name of your referee/referees at the same time as the entries. Instructions will be available at http://www.fencing.fi.

To avoid the long queue at the moment of registration on the venue before the start the registration is already possible for all the series:
- on Friday evening, September 28th from 19:00 – 21:00 at the Sport hall
- on Saturday morning, September 29th from 7:00 – 9:00 at the hotel Radisson Blu
- on Saturday, September 29th from 8:00 at the Sport hall
- on Sunday morning, September 30th from 7:00 – 9:00 at the hotel Radisson Blu
- on Sunday, September 30th from 8:00 at the Sport hall
