| Miesten Säilässä on tullut esiin doping tapaus
Koreassa järjestetyissä MC-kisoissa.

 Fie käsitteli asian ja langetti miekkailijalle vuoden kilpailukiellon.

 FIE LETTERS:
 After the senior men’s sabre World Cup held in Seoul (KOR) on
 February 25-26, 2005, Mr. Jung Hwan Kim (KOR) was found positive
 for the prohibited substance Hydrochlorothiazide (a diuretic).
 During the hearing of the FIE Doping Disciplinary Tribunal held in Linz
 on March 29, 2005:
 - evidence was provided that the substance was prescribed to the
 fencer by the doctor;
 - the fencer did not request the B sample to be tested;
 - the Korean Fencing Federation has informed that the fencer had
 been provisionally suspended from all participation in sport as of
 March 1st, 2005, being the date the federation had learnt of the
 positive laboratory analytical report.

 FIE Doping Disciplinary Tribunal, after deliberations, confirmed that
 the presence of Hydrochlorothiazide constitutes an Anti-doping Rule
 violation and as a consequence, the following sanctions are imposed,
 as provided for by the FIE Anti-doping rules:

 - disqualification of the individual results obtained at the competition in
 Seoul;
 - a period of ineligibility of twelve (12) months from all competitions
 starting on March 1st, 2005 and ending on February 28, 2006.
 The fencer accepted the sanctions.
