Invitation to all young fencers
ESPOO 25TH JUNIOR GP EPEE COMPETITION INDIVIDUEL, 18-20.1.2008

We have the pleasure of inviting You to the 25th international Espoo GP epée individuel competition, in Espoo, Finland. The competition will take place at Tuulimäen Urheiluhalli (Tuulimäki Sport hall) Itätuulenkuja 9, Tapiola, Espoo.

The competition is for all young epée fencers, all ages and on all level.

Categories and schedule for boys and girls

Friday 18th of January 2008

F-series, ages 7-9 years. Born in 1999 –01. Thee mini blade (0, 2) is obligatory.
Schedule: 17.30 last entry / 18.00 start

Saturday 19th of January 2008

E-series, ages 10-11 years, Born 1997-1998. The mini blade (0, 2) is obligatory.
Schedule: 9.00 last entry (the sport hall opens at 9.00) / 9.30 start

D-series, ages 12-13 years. Born in 1996-1995
Schedule: 11.30 last entry / 12.00 start

C-series, ages 14-15 years Born in 1994-1993
Schedule: 14.30 last entry / 15.00 start

Sunday 20th of January 2008

B-series, ages 16-17 years. Born in 1992-1991
Schedule: 9.00 last entry (the sport hall opens at 9.00) / 9.30 start

A-series, ages 18-20 years. Born in 1990-1988
Schedule: 12.30 last entry / 13.00 start

The final to the best two boys and two girls start at 16.30 on Sunday 20th of January. The awards ceremony for all series for 4 best will take place after the final.

The organizers reserve the right to make changes if necessary. Any chances in the schedule will be posted via e-mail after Tuesday the 15th of January.

Formula
The competition will start from the F-series in which 1-6 of the best fences will continue to the E-series.

From the E-series 3-10 of the best fences will continue to the D-series and from the D-series 8-12 of the best fencers will continue to the C-series.

From the C-series 12-16 of the best fencers will continue to the B-series and from the B-series 16-24 of the best fences continue to the A-series (open main series)

After the C-series all the boys and girls will fence in their own series.

Entry fee:
10 EUR for each fencer shall be paid at the moment of registration.

Rules for the equipment
In F- and E series jacket and trousers fencing suit, plastron 800 N is obligatory, mask normal, the mini blade (0, 2) is obligatory.
In C- and D-series jacket and trousers fencing suit, plastron 800 N is obligatory, mask normal, blade normal.
In B-series jacket and trousers fencing suit, plastron 800 N is obligatory, mask 1600 N, blade normal.
In A-series jacket, trousers and plastron 800 N are obligatory, mask 1600 N, blade normal.

Referees
Each club having more than four fencers must provide at least one referee. More than seven fencers must provide at last two referees.

Registration
Registrations to the competition shall be sent via your fencing club no later than on Tuesday the 15th of January by e-mail katri.yli-kovero@espoonmiekkailijat.fi

Accommodation
All delegations must arrange their own accommodation. Special rates have been negotiated with the Hotel Matinlahti. Please ask for GROUP RESERVATIONS and quote reservation code Espoon Miekkailijat /suurkisa when making your reservation. If there are totally 16 persons accommodating price is special. The last reservation day is the 19th of December 2007.
