Invitation to Le duel - Coupe du Nord Sweden

FIE Tournoi satellite sabre masculin

Welcome to Örebro, Sweden and Le Duel - Coupe du Nord 2006. Le Duel is a FIE satellite tournament, it’s a challenge for world cup points! The individual finals will be held at the historical Örebro castle, built in the middle of the 13th century by the Swedish king Magnus Eriksson. The challenge-prize is an inscription on the beautiful sabre from the late 19th
century donated by the legendary Swedish fencer Carl-Olof Enhagen. The winner in the men’s sabre will also be awarded € 100.

Venue:
Saturday’s competition, the youth competition and the team competition on Sunday will be held in Karolinska Skolan, Olaigatan 25. The individual finals (Saturday) at Örebro castle.

Entries:
All fencers must register before 10th of February to the Swedish Fencing Federation, Idrottshuset, Mårbackagatan 19, S-123 43 Farsta, Sweden, Email: (info@fencing.se). Please state your name, nation, club, age and FIE license number. All men entering the FIE satellite tournament must have FIE licence for 2005/2006. Entry fee SEK 175:- / fencer (individual)
and SEK 450:- / team. No entry fee for the youth competition.

Formula:
• One pre tournament round of pools seeded on the formula laid down in the Coupe du Nord rules. There are no eliminations from this round.
• One round pools seeded on the indicators of all the fencers in the pre round. 20-30% of
the fencers will be eliminated after this round of pools.
• Direct elimination, seeded on the results from the second round of pools, without reperchage.
• FIE rules will apply.

Doping control:
Doping control will be effectuated according to the rules of the Coupe du Nord.
