GILDE DES ESCRIMEURS DE GAND The Saint Michael’s Guild invites you to participate in its 8TH OPEN FLEMISH CHAMPIONSHIP GHENT SABRE F.I.E. SATELLITE TOURNAMENT Heat for the “Coupe du Nord” Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd of October 2005 Venue: ATTENTION: NEW VENUE !!! Sporthal Hogeschool Gent, Sint-Denijslaan 251, 9000 Gent (near the Saint-Pieters station) Duels’ schedule Saturday October 22nd: Recreational team tournament: mixed both men and women. Recreational youngster’s tournament: for individual sabre fencers (♂en ♀) born in 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995 Check-in time: 12.00 p.m. Scratch: 12.15 p.m. Competition start: 12.30 p.m. Team tournament formula: 1 round in pools, followed by a direct elimination. Youngsters tournament: 1 or 2 rounds in pools, followed by direct elimination Participants will have to submit a national membership card (Belgian or foreign) Entrance fee: 24 Euro for team and 10 Euro for youngsters tournament. Sunday October 23rd: Individual both men and women sabre competition Men’s sabre Women’s sabre Check-in time: 8.00 a.m. Check-in time: 12.00 Scratch: 8.15 a.m. Scratch: 12.15 p.m. Competition start: 8.30 a.m. Competition start: 12.30 p.m. The final sabre duels men and women: at 16.00 p.m. Price for the winner of the men's competition: 250 Euro, 100 Euro for the second and 50 Euro for both 3th places. Price for the winner of the women's competition: 100 Euro, 50 Euro for second place and 25 Euro for both 3rd places. FIE Sunday’s men sabre competition is qualified as a satellite A-tournament on the international F.I.E. calendar. Participants have to submit an international F.I.E. membership card for the 2005 - 2006 season. Fencers have to apply for this card at their national fencing organisation. The 8 finalists will receive world cup points. As to the women’s competition, an international F.I.E. membership card is not required. Formula According to “Coupe du Nord” regulations: 1 seeding round + 1 round in pools followed by direct elimination without “repêchage”. Entrance fee 15 euros will be collected on tournament’s day Equipment Participant’s equipment according to F.I.E. regulations. Weapon control before competition start (from 8.00 till 8.30 a.m.) or on Saturday. An equipment stand will be foreseen at the welcome hall. Participants qualified for the 32-tableau must mention their name on the back of their electric vest, as well as the national colours on their fencing pants. Responsibility The organisation can not be held responsible towards participants with regard to any accident or damage caused to persons or properties.
