INVITATION COUPE DU NORD HELSINKI, SATURDAY 17th March 2012 Tapanilan Erä Miekkailujaosto is organizing Coupe du Nord Helsinki, a World Cup Satellite Sabre Tournament for senior men in Helsinki on 17th March 2012. VENUE The tournament takes place in Ruskeasuon liikuntahalli sports hall, part of a sports park facility constructed for the Helsinki Summer Olympics in 1952 and used in the equestrian event of the Olympics. The address of the venue is Ratsastie 10, Helsinki. REGISTRATIONS All registrations for the competition must be made by the national federations, according to the F.I.E rules. Please note that all participants must have a valid F.I.E. license for the season 2011/2012. ENTRY FEE Entry fee for the competition is 20 EUR / fencer. EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS All fencing equipment must conform to the F.I.E. standards. F.I.E. Satellite and Coupe du Nord rules will be followed. SCHEDULE: Saturday 17th March 2012: Registration and weapon control end at 12.00 Pools begin at 12.30 THE COMPETITION FORMAT • one pre-tournament round of pools, no elimination from this round • second round of pools, seeded by the results from the first round, 20-30 % fencers eliminated after this round • direct elimination, seeded by the results from the second round of pools • F.I.E. regulations will be applied OTHER INFORMATION The venue Ruskeasuon liikuntahalli is located in the Ruskeasuo Sports Park, 5 kilometres from the city centre. Most hotels or hostels in the Helsinki city centre will have public transportation access to the venue. Tram line 10, as well as several bus lines, will stop close to the venue.
