LEON PAUL CUP
Foil - FIE Satellite Event
The Leon Paul Cup is open to all male foilists, foreign and British nationals possessing a current FIE Licence. This event is appointed by the FIE as satellite World Cup tournament. The final 8 will be awarded World Cup points.
Please note – the Hotel and Venue are in the South of London. Transport to central London takes 30 minutes by train. (East Croydon to London Victoria takes 20 minutes)

Sports Centre,
Haling Park,
Nottingham Road,
South Croydon, CR2 6YT
The nearest stations are South & East Croydon. From here take a taxi to Whitgift School.
The nearest airport is London Gatwick and from here take the train to East Croydon and then a
taxi.(40 minutes total).
If coming from London Heathrow, take the Piccadilly Under ground line to Hammersmith, change on
to the District Line to Victoria and then take the train to East Croydon. The fare from Heathrow to
East Croydon is £10. (London Victoria to East Croydon is 20 minutes)
By car, from the M25 take either Junction 6 and then follow the A22 to Purley or take Junction 7 and
take the A23 to Purley.

Non-GBR entries, must be made via the FIE by the National Federation concerned no later than 8 days
before the competition (FIE letter 6.06)
5) Entry Fee: The entry fee is £13 (Sterling) or 20 euros
6) Formula: The competition will be fenced according to the official FIE formula.

Friday at Croydon Hilton Hotel from 19:30 hrs. till 22:30 hrs.
Saturday at the Sports Centre 08:00 hrs till 16:30 hrs

8) Doping: Control will be carried out.
9) Publicity: The FIE Publicity Code will be strictly enforced.
10) FIE Rules: The Competition will run in accordance with the FIE Rules for Competitions. The

Directoire Technique will, however, reserve the right to decide, without right of appeal, on any
issues not covered by the FIE Rules or by these Rules.
11) Referees: Each country is required to send referees in accordance with FIE requirements. The
names of referees, together with their FIE Category, must appear on the entry form.
12) Accommodation: Booking accommodation is the responsibility of the visiting teams. The
British Fencing Association cannot book hotels for delegations.

Singles are £55 per night bed and breakfast and twins are £65 (£32.50 per person) per night bed
and breakfast. The hotel has a swimming pool and leisure centre.

reservation.
14) Transport:
A shuttle will run between the Croydon Hilton Hotel and the Venue, before and after the event.
A bus will also leave for Gatwick and Heathrow Airports after fencing on the Sunday.
