Coupe du Nord Helsinki 27.5.-28.5.2006

Ylioppilasmiekkailijat ry - Studentfäktarna rf organizes Coupe du Nord Sabre Tournament in Helsinki 27.5.-28.5.2006. The tournament takes place in The Töölön Kisahalli sports hall on Paavo Nurmen kuja 1 close to the Helsinki centre.

Registrations should be sent by E-mail, letter or by fax by May 22nd to: Finnish Fencing Association, Radiokatu 20, FIN-00093 SLU, Finland, fax +358 9 34 81 20 41, E-mail info@ miekkailu.fi.

SCHEDULE:

Saturday 27.5.2006:

Men's Individual Coupe du Nord Sabre:
registration and weapon control end at 11.00
the pools begin at 11.30

Ladies' Individual Coupe du Nord Sabre:
registration and weapon control end at 14.30
the pools begin at 15.00

Sunday 28.5.2005:

Open Coupe du Nord team competition:
registration and weapon control end at 9.30
the competition begins at 10.00

Final registrations with F.I.E. licence numbers must be made by Monday May 22nd 2006 by e-mail, letter or by fax to Finnish Fencing Association. Registrations to any other address are not valid. No registrations are accepted after this date. Entry fee for the individual competition is EUR 10:- / fencer and for the team competition EUR 10:- / team. Please notice that all participants for men's individual competition must have an F.I.E. international licence for 2006. All fencing equipment must conform to the F.I.E. standards. F.I.E. Satellite and Coupe du Nord rules will be followed. A banquet will be arranged on Saturday evening.

THE COMPETITION FORMAT

- one pre-tournament round of pools, no elimination from this round

- second round of pools, seeded by the results from the first round, 20-30 % fencers eliminated after this round

- direct elimination, seeded by the results from the second round of pools.

- F.I.E. regulations will be applied.
